EU slaps X with €120 million fine for breaking online transparency rules

Elon Musk’s social media company X (formerly Twitter) has been fined 120 million euros ($140 million) by EU tech regulators. The EU claims that the platform breached its online content rules. According to the EU, under the Digital Services Act, X mislead verified blue checkmarks that deceive users on account authenticity and provide insufficient data access for researchers.
