Apple AI Chief to step down after challenging tenure

Apple announced on Monday that John Giannandrea, head of artificial intelligence, is stepping down from his role. He will be replaced by Amar Subramanya, a former Microsoft researcher and a former member of Google’s DeepMind AI team. Giannandrea has been in the lead position since joining the iPhone maker in 2018. According to the company, he will remain the company’s advisor until retiring next spring.
